Catalyst & reactor technology

Make green ammonia
work at lower pressure.

Catalyzer is building catalyst and reactor technology for lower-pressure ammonia synthesis — with less compression and more flexible plant design.

The pressure problem

Today’s ammonia plants are built around a compromise.

Conventional catalysts need heat to move fast. That heat works against ammonia formation — so systems answer with pressure.

Catalyzer is developing a lower-temperature route that reopens the design space: less compression, tighter integration, more flexibility.

01 / THE INDUSTRIAL DEFAULT

More heat.
More pressure.

~450 °C150–200 bar

Highly effective at scale — but engineered for a world of continuous, centralised production.

02 / THE CATALYZER DIRECTION

Smarter chemistry.
Less pressure.

250–350 °C20–50 bar

A pathway designed around lower-temperature activity, with the potential to simplify the whole system around it.

Why low pressure wins

02
A

Cut compression

When hydrogen and nitrogen need less pressure lift, the process can need fewer compressors, less high-pressure hardware and lower system complexity.

B

Fit green H₂

By moving the synthesis loop closer to electrolyser outlet pressure, Catalyzer tackles one of the most expensive mismatches in green ammonia production.

C

Stay modular

Lower design pressure can make it easier to right-size plants around energy hubs, local demand and variable renewable power.

One platform. Three routes to market.

Ammonia already moves the world.
Now it can move energy too.

01

Retrofit

More activity can create a valuable upgrade path for the ammonia plants already in service.

02

Green ammonia

Pressure-matched synthesis brings the electrolyser and the ammonia loop closer together.

03

Local production

Lower pressure can unlock safer, smaller systems near power, storage and demand.

Proof over promises

Deep tech earns trust with data.

We are tuning our catalyst platform while testing it against the commercial state of the art. Not in isolation — across the temperatures, pressures and loads that decide real process design.

The goal is a performance case partners can act on: clear benchmarks, long-run data and a route to scale.

01Activity

Make lower-temperature chemistry move.

02Conversion

Target 25–35% at 30 bar.

03Stability

Stay on performance over time.

04Scale

Turn lab data into reactor insight.

From catalyst to confidence

The route to a real-world reactor.

One focused progression: better chemistry, decisive data, an integrated demonstration and the operating hours to back it up.

01

Refine

Sharpen the catalyst, scale its preparation and define the tests that matter.

02

Prove

Benchmark against the field, define the winning window and make the call.

03

Demonstrate

Build the integrated test system where chemistry meets process design.

04

Validate

Run the long hours that turn promising performance into confidence.
